  2. stylish comedies, who worked in the USA from
  3. 1921. Starting as an actor in silent films in
  4. Berlin, he turned to writing and directing,
  5. including Die Augen der Mummie Ma/The Eyes of
  6. the Mummy 1918 and Die Austernprinzessin/The
  7. Oyster Princess 1919. In the USA he directed
  8. The Marriage Circle 1924 and The Student
  9. Prince 1927. His sound films include Trouble
  10. in Paradise 1932, Design for Living 1933,
  11. Ninotchka 1939, and To Be or Not to Be 1942.
